Renovation of a combined terminal station
For bus and train

In 2018 Augel was appointed by the Cologne public transport company to refurbish the terminal stop Köln-Königsforst for bus and tram. The ultra-high strength industrial floor ingbeton was used for this construction project.

Projektleiter: Carsten Thiede
Bauherr: Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe (KVB)
Ort der Ausführung: Köln-Königsforst
Ausführungszeit: Sommer 2018
Partner: ingebton

The high-strength concrete introduced by PlannIng GmbH in 2018 is, among other things, characterised by its enormously high compressive strength. Buses move around the bus stop area at a high frequency, which requires a reliable load-bearing capacity of the subsoil. While other surfaces such as asphalt or paving cannot withstand this high load, ingbeton does not suffer any damage even after years. It is also highly stable in the area of the joint flanks and is not damaged by the rubber tyres of the buses.

In addition, ingbeton has an enormously high cement content, which makes it harden quickly and provides optimum properties for the time-sensitive renovation of stressed surfaces. This prerequisite was of particular importance during the construction work in Cologne-Königsforst, so that bus and rail traffic could be resumed as quickly as possible.
