Augel GmbH wins Digital X Award
Medium-sized company recognised as a sustainable employer
Cologne, 22.09.2023. Augel GmbH has once again made a name for itself as a
pioneer in the field of digitalisation and as a particularly future-oriented employer:
The Weibern-based family business took first place at the Digital X Award
2023 in the category Zukunft der Arbeit (Future of work) thus overtook TÜV Nord
Mobilität and Drees & Sommer. Rolf Scharmann, Managing Director of Augel
GmbH, proudly accepted the award from Christoph Ahlhaus, Chairman of
Bundesverband der mittelständischen Wirtschaft (BMVW), at Digital X
2023.
Deutsche Telekom and the German Association of Small and Medium-Sized
Enterprises honoured the outstanding German flagship projects in the SME sector
in a total of four categories with this award as part of Digital X 2023.
Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digital and Transport Affairs, acted as
patron.
In the category Zukunft der Arbeit (Future of work) the main focus is on a modern
corporate culture that actively involves employees in
digitalisation processes. At the same time, modern technology aims
to help improve the work-life balance and
increase employee
productivity and satisfaction.
The Digital X initiative launched by Deutsche Telekom in 2017 with over
200 national and international partners is regarded as Europe's leading
digitalisation initiative. The aim is to support companies on their way to
digitalisation. It brings together corporations, SMEs, start-ups, politicians,
visionaries and experts in a single community.
With Digital X in Cologne, the initiative brings together trade and private visitors
in Cologne's city centre every year. In 2023, it took place on 20 and 21 September.
Digital ideas and solutions for the future were presented at a total of
four locations across the city for two days. The event focussed in
particular on the topics of the future of work, connectivity, security
and sustainability. Around 300 partners and speakers presented their
innovations at this high-calibre event. Visitors were able to discover
practical examples and solutions on a wide range of topics on site.
The event was rounded off by a top-class supporting
programme including a concert by the US rock band
Thirty Seconds to Mars.
