Construction service provider from Weibern wins German Brand Award

BERLIN, 06.06.2019. The family-owned company Augel GmbH, founded in 1928, is delighted to receive the German Brand Award 2019, another top-class award for the Augel brand as a particularly innovative company in the construction sector. Augel GmbH operates as an industry leader in industrial building construction and civil engineering as well as in mineral oil and petrol station construction. Augel's modern solutions are precisely adapted to the requirements of the highly sensitive facilities of the energy sector as well as the petrochemical and manufacturing industry. The company is particularly far ahead of the established industry in terms of both strategy and technology, which impressed the jury.

Managing Director Rolf Scharmann is convinced that Augel GmbH is pursuing the right strategy with its innovative solutions. "The award confirms our outstanding achievements in the field of construction 4.0", explains Scharmann, who is the third generation to head the company.

Last year Augel GmbH celebrated its 90th anniversary. In addition, the company from Weibern in the district of Ahrweiler, Rhineland-Palatinate, was nominated for the Oskar Patzelt Foundation's Grand Prix for Medium-Sized Businesses once again and was awarded as a finalist for the first time. In 2017, Augel GmbH already received the TOP100 seal as one of the most innovative companies in the German medium-sized business sector.

The initiator of the German Brand Award is the German Design Council, which was founded in 1953 on the initiative of the German Bundestag. The award honours companies that successfully stand out from the crowd on the basis of consistent brand management and sustainable brand communication. The award, which is presented annually by the German Design Council and the German Brand Institute, recognizes the most innovative brands nationwide. The 2019 winners were honoured at a gala at Deutsche Telekom's representative office in Berlin on June 6. More than 700 invited guests from business, media and culture attended the ceremony.
