Augel is awarded the coveted German Brand Award - the initiator of the German Brand Award is the German Design Council, which was founded in 1953 on the initiative of the German Bundestag. The award honours companies that successfully stand out from the crowd on the basis of consistent brand management and sustainable brand communication.

The continuous improvement and optimisation of services is an elementary part of the corporate strategy of Johann Augel Bauunternehmung GmbH. Augel offers a broad portfolio of services for its customers, which are permanently reviewed, improved and extended.

Construction of an additional equipment hall and introduction of a new logistical procedure to optimise the organisation of all the company's equipment and vehicles.

By implementing a regular strategy discussion within the management level, a long-term strategy planning is possible and Augel GmbH's reorientation is constantly checked and corrected.

Augel successfully completes the SCC certification.

"SCC" is an international standard for safety, health and environmental protection management for technical service providers working at the client's premises. The requirements for subcontractors have been uniformly defined in this standard. So-called contractors are external companies that operate on the customer's premises and provide technical services, such as maintenance, assembly, crane, cleaning and insulation work.

Dipl.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing (FH) Rolf Scharmann takes over the company shares from Hans Peter Scharmann at the beginning of the year and is thus in 3rd generation 100% partner and managing director of Augel GmbH.

For the year 2002 we had set ourselves the goal of achieving certification according to DIN ISO 9001:2000. The certification audit was successfully completed in April 2002.

The turn of the millennium was prepared intensively and was a regular turn of the year for both the products and the company itself.

Um den Anforderungen des Arbeitsschutzes nachzukommen, beschäftigt sich die Firma Augel im Bereich Mineralölindustrie schon seit einigen Jahren mit den erhöhten Anforderungen des SCC (Sicherheits-Certifikat für Contraktoren). Im Jahre 1999 wurden alle Führungskräfte des Firma Augel entsprechend den Anforderungen zu einer SGU-Fachkraft (SGU = Sicherheit, Gesundheits- und Umweltschutz) ausgebildet.

Due to the many years of experience of our specialist staff on the construction site, it was possible to train employees in the construction of liquid-tight joints and to obtain the approval as "Specialist company SABA UWS system". Since then, we have been able to offer our customers the complete range of liquid-tight tubs and roadways. This range extends to full service as a maintenance contract.

The corporate design’s extension of the Augel company takes on further forms. On 22.03.1995 the logo symbol of the Augel company is registered as a trademark at the "German Patent Office".

The move from Eichertstraße to Windkaulweg took place at the turn of the year 1994/1995.

The Augel company is significantly involved in the construction of the grandstands in the Dunlop turn at the world-famous Nürburgring.

The owner Hans Peter Scharmann introduces a further partner into the company: Mr. Gottfried Groß, head of the mineral oil and petrol station construction division, a main pillar of the company.

On 01 April 1978 the Augel company celebrates its 50th anniversary. A special occasion, which is celebrated with special guests in Maria Laach.

The founder Johann Augel enters his well-deserved retirement. Employees and successors thank Johann Augel for his enormous achievements in building up and managing the company. Hans Peter Scharmann takes over the company's management on 27.08.1969.

Johann Augel, childless, brings his nephew Hans Peter Scharmann from Voiswinkel near Bergisch Gladbach into the business. While working in his uncle's business, he passed his master craftsman's examination in front of the examination board of the Chamber of Crafts in Koblenz on May 20, 1960. Subsequently, he passed the examination for state-certified technician with diploma on September 16, 1961.

In 1938, Johann Augel built a residential house in the Eichertstraße in Weibern. Here a room for the construction company's office was built on the basement floor. The office in the Eichertstraße was the company's headquarters until the construction of the new headquarters in Windkaulweg in 1994.
