A very special construction project. The removal of a minimum coverage by lowering the 25-tonne culvert on behalf of EON Ruhrgas in Neuwied an der Wied.

Project manager: André Prytamannyi, Augel
Bauherr/Auftraggeber: EON Ruhrgas
Place of execution: Neuwied an der Wied
Team: 5 People
Execution time: June – September 2009
Partner: August Fichter Unternehmensgruppe

The construction project was subject to complex approval procedures. Two large excavators weighing 20 tonnes were converted to bio-oil as part of this construction project. This enabled us to carry out the work in the area of the stream properly.

One particular challenge was to carry out the work while the stream was still flowing, as the relocation of the stream was not authorised. For this reason, two divers were deployed when the culvert was laid to check whether the culvert was lying on the bed.

A 500 tonne crane was used to install the complete DN300 culvert.

The Augel company only had a very narrow time window of just one day for the reintegration and removal of the old culvert.
